Yes it was from the "Before They Were Rock Stars" video. The narrator was just repeating what he had been told. Many people thought Ritchie was very posh (and rich) because he went to a private school, wore nice clothes, had refined manners and a clear speaking voice. And I don't think his management discouraged the notion since it set him off nicely against the other lads, who were seen as working class. Rich was very middle class (like Sean and J were actually) and his mum sacrificed to send him to the best school she could while she managed a pub.
That said, Ritchie had little trouble, once the band had lived together a while, fitting in since he had plenty of street manners from his neighborhood, from having grown up in a pub and from his much older brother, Dave. Rich could talk "Brummie" (Birmingham) hard boy with the best of them and stood up for himself, which was a necessity with Five. They probably would have eaten him had he really been a posh snob. But it took a few long and painful months before Scott and Abs actually believed he was a regular bloke.

me too, i'm glad they stuck to ritchie instead of 'rio' but i kno where ritchie's coming from, i go to a 'posh' school too, and all the other schools give us a hard time because of it...it's like we're from a different world...
