it is a dismal day today,my hubby went back to work and has been told he has to work a day less each week so we will lose quite a bit of money as he gets paid monthly.

On my mind right now is the fact that i hate it when your animals die. I had to put my 19 year old cat to sleep at the vet on saturday, i miss him so much right now!

thanks rotae,i hope i get lucky too.patricia,i feel so sad for you,it is like losing one of the family,we had a dog for 16 years and he died not long ago and we all still miss him very much, but 19 years is a really good age for a cat, your cat must have been very well looked after to live that long,i understand how you are feeling.....

*hugs Patricia* We had to put my cat down last year. It was really horrible. No one told me until I got home, so I didn't get to say goodbye to her. She was 15, her name was Soo. I still wanna hug her... she was big and fat and such a honey... What was your cat's name? Peace, Rotae

Hello Rotae and Retro, thank you so much for your kind words! Rotae my cat's name was Sylvester.... To be honest, i knew it would hurt but i never expected it to hurt this much, he was part of my family.... i knew when i brought him to the vet that he wasn't feeling to good, i wanted for them to give him some fluids which they did but then he crashed and i just knew that his body just gave up so i told the vet to put him to sleep... and i know i did a good thing because he had a great life and i couldn't let him suffer but i still can't help thinking if there wasn't anything else i could have done... i know i couldn't but it's just on my mind! I still have 1 more cat at home, her name is Cindy and she's 9 years old, she belongs to my bf but ever since i came home from the vet she hasn't left my site, so she's been a really big help! Even if she doesn't realise this...

dont feel guilty,patricia-your cat had a long and happy life and you would not want him to suffer,it is so hard to cope with after having a pet for many years,it leaves a big gap in your life.this sounds silly but i lost my budgie peter almost 2 years ago now,and i still miss him,he was a great talker, like one of the family, and when he died the house seemed so quiet,we have since got another 2 budgies, and they talk a little, but ,bless them, they wont replace peter.at least you have your boyfriends cat to cuddle,i know that no other cat will replace sylvester but if you can, just think of all the happy years you have had with him....

I think it's because pets are always there for you - ya know? Like everyday after school Soo would be there waiting for me... she was such a social cat. When she was younger, she used to sit on top of next door's fence, and people would come along and pat her... and if they didn't, she'd run out the front of our house and lie down in the middle of the footpath with her tummy up until they patted her! lol. She was an awesome friend. I'm definitely going to get a cat when I have a permenant residence. I love them so much... but no one will ever replace her. I like Sylvester much more than Tweety... And I know what you're going to Patricia, because almost the exact same thing happened to Soo... her kidney's packed in... she got so skinny by the end... she was always a fat cat.
*rushes off to find a picture*
Peace, Rotae

thats so sad, sometimes you just have to let go, its hard but its for the best, at least they don't die in pain.
We found a stranded lamb on my friends farm once, we fed it and built it up, but it was full of diseases so we had to let it go...he was called toby.

emma and laura used to have hamsters but they didnt live very long,3 years at the most, and they were always upset when they died.rotae, your cat sounds like the one that lives near emmas school, when we are waiting in the car for her it always appears as the kids are coming out of school and sits on the wall waiting for them to come along and stroke it!!it just loves the attention it gets from people!!!

hah can you tell ive been avoiding this thread due to the recent topic? *pouts* ya think after 2 years i'd be able to get over it wouldn ya? my baby was a kitten when we got him, i was just under 4 years old....so basically i grew up with him...not long after his 13th birthday...a couple of weeks if that, he'd fallen ill and we knew it was really bad when he couldnt make it off my bed to be sick (with furballs, he always used to jump off my bed and go into the hall...but he couldnt manage it then) which is how we knew something was seriously wrong... anywho, long story short...he had aggressive stomach cancer and basically it turned out the majority of his stomach WAS the tumor... but when they found this out was during the initial investigation operation...as to which we got the phone call saying did we wanna put him through the pain of waking up for a couple of weeks pain left before he died.....and i just couldnt put him through that (ok in tears here now....brb ) ok ok im fine now, as i was saying...we had to make that dreaded decision...and i never saw my baby again. Considering he had slept IN my bed with me for near on 13 years....yeah he wasnt as old as some cats, but still....no wonder ive been avoiding this thread....

ok now i am thinkin about my mobile is turning into Ewan.... heres why: -my Images folder in my phone has various pics of him. -i have a pic of him on the front cover. -a different pic on the back cover. (he has 'vodafone' over his Sporran and 'nokia' over his eye, making him look like a scottish pirate) -a pic of him as the screen wallpaper -i have his talking in an advert as my text message alert (it says Whats a little murder between friends eh? every time i get a message) -I've got his talking in a tv advert for my voice calls ringtone. -THEN i have him in Velvet Goldmine as my answermachine message. Obsessed and infatuated spring to mind.... ( PROOF HERE)

OMG I want one! lol.
I have Ritchie as my answering machine. He says "Hi this is Ritchie from Five, and I'm really sorry that she can't come to the phone right now, coz we're on a hot, hot date. So, leave your name an number and she'll get back to you with all the juicy details.
I had Soo (and her sister Kitty (who died about four years ago now)) since I was 2.
*sigh*
Peace, Rotae
